First-Ever Boulder Community Resource Fair for the Homeless a Success

On Wednesday, June 30th, Feet Forward, a Boulder-based nonprofit committed to homeless outreach hosted the first-ever Community Resource Fair for the Homeless in downtown Boulder. Twenty community providers attended to share information about programs and resources available to the homeless. Attending organizations ranged from shelters to organizations that help veterans to those who help in the criminal justice system.

“The purpose of the Fair was to increase service engagement and housing pathways by meeting people where they are at,” explains Jennifer Livovich, Executive Director, Feet Forward.

“Feet Forward’s Community Resource Fair was a great success. It allowed us to engage the community alongside other service providers and meet people where they are. We look forward to future such events and are grateful to have Jennifer Livovich’s leadership and vision working for a better future for all of Boulder,” said Chris Reynolds, Assistant Prosecutor, Boulder Municipal Court System.

Feet Forward plans to make community resource fairs a regular event, with the next one tentatively scheduled for the third week in September.

“Feet Forward’s Community Resource Fair was an excellent experience.  Jennifer’s intuition for reaching and connecting with the unhoused population is a unique and valuable resource for our community.  At the fair, we made important connections to other organizations, met and provided services for new people who were unaware that we existed, and ran into old clients with whom we had unfinished projects.  I hope to see many more of them for our community, ” said Lani Gordon, Program Director, Focus Reentry.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
