Boulder International Film Festival, with Boulder JCC, to Screen “Shared Legacies”

The Boulder JCC is excited to be partnering with the Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) Call2action program to present the screening of “Shared Legacies” on Sunday, June 27th at 5:45 pm.

Divisive seeds of hate are taking root anew in the American landscape. People who lived through the Civil Rights era of the 1960s will remember that common cause was found as Jewish leaders, often at their peril, backed Dr. King’s efforts at racial equality and harmony. Pivotal events come alive in this film through a treasure trove of archival materials, narrated by eyewitnesses, activists, Holocaust survivors and civil rights leaders, including Congressman John Lewis, Ambassador Andrew Young, Rabbi Alvin Sugarman, Rabbi Peter S. Berg, Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr., members of the King family and many others. This potent, inspiring story of unity, empathy, and partnership, validates the ubiquity of the human experience, and how freedom and equality for all can be achieved only when people come together.
