World Premiere of New Holocaust Play in Boulder

Cabaret Kalisz” by Christie Winn comes to Boulder for its world premiere. “Cabaret Kalisz” is a new play that depicts how the human spirit can crumble and triumph in the face of adversity. Produced by local theater company Theater O, the play will run from November 9th to November 18th.

Michelle Romeo, founder of Rocky Mountain Theatre for Kids and artistic director, founder, and producer of Theatre O, is directing “Cabaret Kalisz” as a show that focuses on women and how their survival instincts rise, fall, and interact rather than ‘just another Holocaust play’. She is joined by her assistant director and son, Julien Romeo Motola, and together they’ve created an intuitive and thought-provoking commentary on how women found light in the darkest of places. Indeed, the message of “Cabaret Kalisz” mirrors the vision of Theatre O in general. Theatre O seeks to “transcend the banal and mirror the many conditions of the human experience” and the creative team has achieved just that through the world of Germany in the mid-1940s.

Ticket prices are $20 for students with a valid ID, $24 for adults, and $20 for groups of 10 or more. All tickets are $20 on November 12th. Online tickets can be purchased at www.theatreo.org. Theater O – 5311 Western Ave, Suite 120, Boulder, CO 80301.

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
