Despite the ongoing war with Iran, approximately 7,000 participants, including students, young professionals, and adults from dozens of countries, will take part in the International March of the Living in Poland on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day, April 14.

Haver and the Rabbinic Council of Boulder, with community support, launched the Shoah Family History project to collect Holocaust experiences and strengthen connections to Jewish history.

After two years of online programming, the Boulder community will have an opportunity to gather in person for Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, on April 27th at Congregation Har HaShem.

Before local anti-Jewish laws were enacted, before neighborhood shops and synagogues were destroyed, and before Jews were forced into ghettos, cattle cars, and camps, words were used to stoke the fires of hate. #ItStartedWithWords is a digital, Holocaust education campaign posting weekly videos of survivors from around the world reflecting on those moments that led up to the Holocaust – a period of time when they could not have predicted the ease with which their long-time neighbors, teachers, classmates, and colleagues would turn on them, transitioning from words of hate to acts of violence.

On April 7th, the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day in the Jewish calendar, International March of the Living, along with special partners, will hold a special symposium on “Medicine and Morality: Lessons from the Holocaust and COVID-19”.

Nissan is a month of remembrance and observance. On this Wednesday evening, we sit together in sadness and grief as we collectively observe Yom HaZikaron laShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, to recall the genocide of our six million brethren.

Maria Krenz will recount her story of survival this Wednesday, April 7th at 7:00 pm during Boulder’s Yom HaShoah program, presented by Haver, the Rabbinic Council of Boulder, and the Boulder JCC.

The program will begin with a 22-minute viewing of the film followed by a moderated panel discussion and Q&A.

The Boulder Jewish Community and Haver will host an Inter-Generational Yom HaShoah program this Wednesday night at Nevei Kodesh.
