Hundreds gathered for Boulder’s Grand Chanukah Menorah lighting, honoring community resilience against recent attacks, featuring speakers, entertainment, and a new menorah by Rabbi Yitzchok Moully.

Tradition with a Twist is a seven-foot menorah by Yitzchok Moully, blending art and spirituality, debuting at the Boulder Menorah Lighting on December 15th, celebrating Jewish resilience.

According to Chany Scheiner, co-founder of the Boulder Center for Judaism, they chose Barbara Steinmetz for a number of reasons, but the most important is that, according to Chany, "she is always such a light against the darkness.”

Boulder Center for Judaism is excited that this year there are more large Menorahs displayed in Boulder County to help create a holiday spirit.

Traditionally known as “Hanukkah on Pearl Street,” this year it will be broadcast live over Zoom.

Thanks to the Boulder Fire Department, Chanukah gelt rained down on the large crowd in front of the Boulder County Courthouse Monday night as the Jewish community celebrated the second night of Chanukah by lighting a giant menorah.

An important part of every year’s Chanukah celebration is the honor of lighting the menorah. This year’s Lamplighters are Rhonda and Bruce Wildman, long-time residents who have worked tirelessly on behalf of the Boulder Jewish community.

This year, the Boulder County Center for Judaism has selected former concierge and marketing director for the Boulder Jewish Community Center, Michael Rosensweig, as the Lafayette Lamplighter to kindle the Giant Menorah on the last night of Chanukah.

Each year the Boulder County Center for Judaism selects a member of the Boulder Jewish community to receive the special honor of lighting the giant community menorah. This year’s Lamplighters are Josh and Bonni Raderman, who have been lighting things up Jewishly in Boulder for many years.
