Notwithstanding the praise that some Jewish organizations have heaped on the Biden White House's recent plan to fight antisemitism ("U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism"), the facts -- for at least two reasons -- demonstrate that this plan is toothless. 

I agree with Bruce Ticker. Rashida Tlaib was lying when she said that the Nakba is the root cause of issues that continue to divide Israel and the Palestinians today.

I must disagree with the members of the Rabbinic Council. The Israeli Supreme Court and the Knesset do not currently serve as a check and balance on each other. As things stand now, the Court is clearly in control.

The Rabbinic Council of Boulder is entitled to its opinion, but it ignores the fact that a fair democratic election was held in Israel. ("The Rabbinic Council of Boulder Aligns Itself With Israel's Protestors Against Judicial Reform," BJN 5/9/23). The majority, albeit a small majority, voted for the Netanyahu coalition whose platform included judicial reform. 

As most Americans are not familiar with the workings of Parliamentary governments, I thought BJN readers might appreciate a bit of background concerning Bruce Ticker’s remark about the Knesset’s slim majority seeking to transform the (Israeli) Supreme Court’s authority ("DeSantis Visit to Israel Not All That Kosher" Boulder Jewish News May 4, 2023).

As we write this, we are deeply disturbed by the rise of anti-Semitism in our society. It is a cancer that eats away at the very fabric of our communities and threatens the well-being of everyone. This insidious hatred must be opposed by all people of good will.

Bruce Ticker says that few people are fooled by Palestinians claiming that their attacks on Israelis are driven by Israeli policy. ("Column: No Anti-Semitism Here", BJN 4/21/2023.) Unfortunately, that is not true.

Recently two events at major American university newspapers make clear that American academia intends to willfully deny the reality that the Department of Education Office For Civil Rights has declared anti-Zionist discrimination actionable under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

In August 1977 Zahir Muhsein, a member of the Executive Committee of the PLO, in an interview with a Dutch newspaper, declared the Palestinian people to be a propaganda invention...

Bruce Ticker (“Israel is Our Business,” March 2) claims that the current Israeli government “has proposed annexing the Palestinian territories.” In fact, the government has not made any such proposal, and the platform of the ruling Likud party says nothing about annexing territories.

Since 2005 Omar Barghouti, a founder of BDS, has declared the sole purpose of BDS to be the euthanasia of Israel.

Notwithstanding how often a newspaper may write or a television commentator may say that Israel "captured" the "West Bank" and "East Jerusalem" in June 1967, it is not so.

When it comes to Jew hatred, one can draw a direct line from Louis Vuitton and Vichy to Louis Vuitton and Bella Hadid.

Recently the Editorial Board of the Wellesley News of Wellesley College in an editorial very publicly declared their total support for Omar Barghouti's antisemitic genocidal BDS movement and the Boston Mapping Project which it unequivocally declared to be a "vital service" to the community.

Kanye West boasted about being able to act without consequences. “I can literally say antisemitic s*** and they [Adidas] cannot drop me," West said on a social media video so it may come as a surprise to him that “Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

Ticker attempted to blame Trump for antisemitic threats received by the synagogue after the judge signed the warrant to raid Trump’s Mar a Lago residence. Yet I saw no evidence that Trump had anything to do with these threats.

For some time the social justice wokes of the Board of Directors of Ben & Jerry's have been claiming that Israel "illegally occupies" Judea and Samaria notwithstanding that Article 80 of the United Nations Charter, an international treaty that all 193 members are required to obey, declares all of what is Israel including Judea and Samaria to be the reconstituted homeland of the Jewish people.

Recently released audio tapes which have Adolf Eichmann talking candidly in 1957 with acquaintances in Argentina demolish "the banality of evil" into smithereens and with it Arendt's purported perception and intellect.
