The Boulder community has been struck by many recent tragedies. When communities are faced with compounding crises, it can be helpful to take a pause and offer space for grief and healing.

JFS Boulder has expanded its mental health services to provide ongoing high-quality mental health services for anyone needing therapy, including those impacted by the Marshall Fire or Straight-Line Wind Event in Boulder County. The Red Cross and Boulder County Housing and Human Services generously supported this expanded service.

JFS Jewish Disabilities Advocates (JDA) and its partner organizations will focus on connection and belonging throughout 2023. A kick-off event on February 1 will feature Rabbi Lauren Tuchman and Rabbi Julia Appel.

JFS Boulder has received a $250,000 recovery grant from the Red Cross to expand access to longer-term mental health services for those impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind Event, as well as individuals who have secondary trauma attributed to their roles as first responders, teachers, and disaster recovery staff.

As the one-year anniversary of the Marshall Fire approaches JFS Boulder continues to provide resources for those impacted by the fire.

Boulder JFS is seeking an energetic, positive, and collaborative individual to be our Volunteer Services Manager.

This single-session group intervention is for our neighbors who have experienced trauma from the Marshall Fire. The goal is to build resiliency and reduce traumatic stress surrounding this event.

Jill Ruggles lost her home of 30 years in the fire. She shares her account of what happened and how JFS came to her family’s rescue when they needed to find immediate housing.

Please join JFS Boulder and Boulder JCC for three very important conversations on Alzheimer’s. Currently, the series is scheduled for Zoom. If possible, we will move to an in-person or a hybrid option.

The Boulder JCC is listening to the needs of our community and the desire to help. We are working with our community partners to identify the support we can provide. We have prepared and are continuously updating a list of resources for those impacted and for those who want to help.

If you are caring for or are concerned about an aging parent nearby or long distance, JFS Boulder invites you to attend Caring for Your Aging Parent, a free virtual monthly drop-in support group for adult children on the first Wednesday of each month.
