Jewish National Fund-USA’s Annual Breakfast for Israel Returns to Denver April 9

Jewish National Fund-USA’s Breakfast for Israel is returning to Denver on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 8 am, at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. The event has drawn nearly 1,000 philanthropists and pro-Israel community members in previous years as local community members seek ways to support the land and people of Israel via the trusted nonprofit organization that is spearheading the rebuilding of Israel’s north and south.

Co-chaired by Cindy & Jason Altberger, Jim Cohen, Dana & Brian Friedman, and Barbara & Adam Moskowitz, the event’s keynote speaker is Gadi Ezra, Israel’s former National Public Diplomacy Unit Director, a human rights attorney, Israeli special forces veteran, and the author of the book, 11 Days in Gaza.

“There is an entire Gaza underground; there are two Gazas,” said Ezra during a recent interview on the IsraelCast podcast. “There’s the Gaza that you can see visually when you’re there, and there’s the Gaza of underground with an astonishing infrastructure of tunnels that were prepared for this day (October 7), to enable Hamas to maintain war against the most powerful military in the Middle East, but also to keep hostages away from the IDF.”

As a former senior official in Israel’s Ministry of Justice and a reservist in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Gadi Ezra is a recognized expert at the forefront of Israel’s national security, resilience planning, and humanitarian crisis response. He has advised international policymakers and contributed to leading media discussions on Israel’s evolving security and geopolitical landscape. As an advocate for proactive, sustainable rebuilding efforts, Ezra will share some of the critical challenges facing Israel, such as the complexities of Israel’s borders, the humanitarian impact of displacement, and the necessity of long-term strategic investment.

Local lay leaders will also discuss how Jewish National Fund-USA is supporting Israel’s rebuilding efforts post-October 7 (jnf.org/supportisrael). Through the organization’s bold and visionary Build Together plan for Israel’s south and Reimagine plan for the north, the organization is partnering with Israelis in the region to repair, rehabilitate, and renovate damaged communities while ensuring critical services are established.

“Jewish National Fund-USA has always stood by the land and people of Israel, and today, our commitment is stronger than ever,” said Event Co-Chair, Jason Altberger. “This year’s Breakfast for Israel is more than just an event—it’s a defining moment for our community to rally together, take bold action, and directly impact Israel’s future. With so much at stake, now is the time to stand up, show our support, and make a difference that will be felt for generations to come.”
