Sunday November 3rd in Boulder: a Run/Walk for Hostages

This Sunday’s run/walk is dedicated to five Israeli runners who have been held captive in Gaza by Hamas terrorists since 10/7.

November 3rd is the NYC Marathon, and the Hostages Families Forum in NY invited people to run in honor of NAAMA LEVY, DORON STEINBRECHER, EVYATAR DAVID, OHAD YAHALOMI, & EDAN ALEXANDER — all passionate runners. Their families have asked marathon participants to run for them to help raise awareness.

We wanted to do the same here in Boulder — a city with many, many runners. If you are one of them, please join us in this act of solidarity and run a 5K on Sunday, November 3rd with the Boulder chapter of Run for Their Lives. Or just do our 1K regular walk.

We are walking and running because they cannot. Sunday will be Day 394.

We will hand out flyers of each of the five runners to pin to your shirts. Wear a picture of one of these hostages and let’s get their faces out there in our community.

We are very honored that Israeli Olympian, Maor Tiyouri, will be running with us. We are so grateful that she will be there with Run For Their Lives – Boulder, and helping promote its mission to keep attention focused on the ongoing plight of the hostages.

We also extend big thanks to local runner and NYC transplant, Elise Mordos, for planning the route of the run and helping organize. Elise has been a regular with us since we started walking Thanksgiving weekend 2023.

Please share with friends and family — walkers and runners. Let’s do this together. Let’s show people that Boulder has eyes on the 101 people still held captive in Gaza.

Let’s call out for their release. Let’s not be silent. Let’s be upstanders.

Join our Facebook group to see posts about each of the hostages. Copy and share them, add to their stores in the comments. Help keep the hostages in the headlines.

Sunday, November 3rd, marks the 394th day since 240 hostages were kidnapped from Israel and taken to Gaza. 101 of them, seven of whom are American citizens, still remain captive there. Please – join us this Sunday to walk for all those still held hostage. The world cannot forget. Please bring posters and flags (or you can borrow from us) and wear red.

The local Boulder chapter of Run For Their Lives (part of the larger Bring Them Home Now initiative) has been walking in downtown Boulder every week. There are multiple groups like ours meeting internationally and across US cities (including a local Denver chapter). Our group has about 220 members, and has not missed a walk since Thanksgiving Weekend 2023.

Our group meets at 1 pm on the corner of Pearl & 8th and walks the length of the Pearl Street Mall and back, stopping at the courthouse for a brief video that the leads of Run For Their Lives include in their weekly recap. The goal is to share the message far and wide (specifically via social media) that the hostages have not been forgotten. This is not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release.

When: Sunday, November 3rd at 1 pm
Meet-up: Corner of Pearl & 8th Street
