Another Sunday, Another Walk Supporting the Hostages

Another Sunday, Another Walk Supporting the Hostages

Today is Day 357, edging closer and closer to marking the 365 days these 101 hostages have been held in hell. Along with the multiple commemorations that will be taking place to mark the date of October 7, our group will continue to do what it is has been doing since Thanksgiving 2023: walking peacefully in downtown Boulder to draw as much attention as we can to the plight of the hostages and publicly pleading for their release.

We are praying with our feet. We are a community within a community, and we invite all of you to join us. Please help us spread the word about these weekly walks. We won’t stop doing them until everyone is home.

Sunday, September 29th, marks the 359th day since 240 hostages were kidnapped from Israel and taken to Gaza. After last year’s short cease-fire exchange, recovery of 6 bodies, the recent rescue and earlier rescues, about 101 of them, eight of whom are American citizens, still remain captive there. Please – join us this Sunday to walk for all those still held hostage. The world cannot forget. Please bring posters and flags (or you can borrow from us) and wear red.

The local Boulder chapter of Run For Their Lives (part of the larger Bring Them Home Now initiative) has been walking in downtown Boulder every week. There are multiple groups like ours meeting internationally and across US cities (including a local Denver chapter). Our group has about 220 members, and has not missed a walk since Thanksgiving Weekend 2023.

Our group meets at 1 pm on the corner of Pearl & 8th and walks the length of the Pearl Street Mall and back, stopping at the courthouse for a brief video that the leads of Run For Their Lives include in their weekly recap. The goal is to share the message far and wide (specifically via social media) that the hostages have not been forgotten. This is not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release.

When: Sunday, September 29th at 1 pm
Meet-up: Corner of Pearl & 8th Street
