Join the Men of the J on Thursday, June 27 from 7 – 8:30 pm for a presentation from Professor Meg Frisbee on Jewish Gangsters.
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, Jews were involved in organized crime all over the U.S. Well-known Jewish Gangsters such as Bugsy Siegel, Meyer Lansky, and Mickey Cohen were all Jewish boys who grew into some of the most influential underground figures we know. These activities flourished during Prohibition, as many became deeply entrenched in bootlegging, gambling, and murder.
Educating on organized crimes in the United States during the early and mid-twentieth century, Professor Meg Frisbee will bring to life Jewish Gangsters from New York to Los Angeles and how they operated their business during this time.
