It’s that time of year when the snow is melting, the days are getting longer, and we’re trading in our cups of hot chocolate for cool lemonade. For thousands of young adults, this also means figuring out summer jobs. If you find yourself in that position, wondering “What will my summer hold?”, we have your answer: summer camp!
Currently, the Boulder JCC’s Cherryvale Day Camp is recruiting values-driven, energetic, conscientious, and resourceful summer staff. Although a seasonal role, the benefits of this work carry far beyond the summer. It’s truly a transformative experience!
Not only do you immerse yourself in fun and games, but you’ll acquire and develop a wide array of professional skills that have proven to be the foundation for future careers. Serving as a camp counselor develops skills and competencies in leadership, problem-solving, effective communication, empathy and building relationships, time and group management, teaching and behavioral coaching, and so much more. While growing both personally and professionally, you’ll also enjoy the benefit of strengthening your network and making a positive impact in your community.
As a counselor, you’ll become a trusted ear, listening to campers’ stories; a source of reassurance, helping kids navigate any challenges they’ll encounter; a sounding board and thought partner for peers managing challenging behaviors; and a cheerleader for all the little wins. It’s significant, important, and powerful work that helps you to uncover new passions, discover a sense of purpose, and realize your full potential.
At Cherryvale Day Camp, you can experience all of this and more! Open roles include Camp Counselors and Specialty Teachers for Dance, Farm, STEM/Nature, Crafts, and Sports. Whether you’ve worked at camps before or are just excited by the opportunity, we have a place for you. So, come join us and we’ll grow together!
This in-person, seasonal role is full-time and outdoors, with the camp season running from May 24th to August 9th. You must be at least 18 years of age. For more information or to apply, visit www.boulderjcc.org/jobs or reach out to our Assistant Camp Director, Jordan (jordan.etter@boulderjcc.org).
