Annual Irene Rosenschein Holocaust Lecture Scheduled for March at the Boulder JCC

The US Holocaust Memorial Museum was created to teach that the Holocaust was preventable and that by heeding warning signs and taking early action, individuals and governments can save lives. With this knowledge, the Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide works to do for the victims of genocide today what the world failed to do for the Jews of Europe in the 1930s and 1940s.  Naomi Kikoler, director of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of Genocide, will be speaking at the Boulder JCC on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 pm on “The High Cost of Indifference”.

Naomi will be in conversation with Lindsay Avner Kaplan about the Center’s work and how they work to prevent tragedies around the world. Naomi is a leading expert on international human rights advocacy, and human rights law.

“We truly believe that the Center is at the forefront of preventing the next mass atrocity,” said Lindsay Avner Kaplan. “We are thrilled to introduce Naomi, a true leader in this area, to our Boulder community and can ensure the evening will be both thought-provoking and deeply meaningful.”

This program is supported by the Ilona Irene Rosenschein Holocaust Education Endowment Fund (IIRHEF) at the Boulder JCC. This fund was launched in 2019 with a generous donation from Larry Cohn to honor Irene and her contribution to Holocaust education in the Boulder community.
