Letter: Truly, American Jews Had Better Get Their Act Together.

Dear Editor –

Kanye West boasted about being able to act without consequences. “I can literally say antisemitic s*** and they [Adidas] cannot drop me,” West said on a social media video (https://m.jpost.com/diaspora/antisemitism/article-720234) so it may come as a surprise to him that “Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.” (https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/10/25/adidas-terminates-partnership-with-ye-following-rappers-antisemitic-remarks.html )

Kanye West has also been dropped by Balenciaga over his antisemitic comments, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour reportedly “has no future plans” to engage in projects with him. CAA, the talent agency that represents West, has dropped him as a client. The producers behind a recently completed documentary about West have shelved the film.

But, intent on shaping the story rather than accurately reporting, Tucker Carlson cut – and thus hid – the disturbingly antisemitic views of his interview guest Kanye West. And equally as stunning, Candace Owens covered for West by claiming his extremely ugly remarks were “taken out of context”.

Antisemitic demonstrators recently hung banners praising West from an overpass on LA’s 405 freeway. The 405 banners – and the nine student groups at UC Berkeley’s School of Law whose amended bylaws now require that speakers who support Israel or Zionism will never be permitted to speak – are not the end of this.

This horror is trending, and, yes, American Jews had better get their act together. While they still can.

Column: The Fetterman Approach to Israel-Bashers Must Be Replicated Worldwide

U.S. Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania proved this week that an advocate for Israel can confront an Israel-basher, shake him up and still stand firm and unyielding. Or stand tall, as John Wayne or Ronald Reagan might word it.
