Letter: Voting “Present”: The Refuge of Cowards

Dear Letters:

Members of Congress are paid  large six-figure salaries and many thousands of dollars more in perks to make decisions, that is, to vote  Yea or Nay — not to vote “Present.”

The Iron Dome is a purely defensive system designed to save Jewish lives from thousands of rockets fired into civilian population centers by Hamas, whose charter in Article 7 mandates the murder of every Jew on earth.

Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ and Representative Hank Johnson’s failure to vote for Iron Dome funding — voting ‘present’ — means they  are both  comfortable with the Jewish deaths that will result from an underfunded Iron Dome system. Simply put, voting “present” is the refuge of  legislative cowards.
