Two Rabbis Walk into a Brain

Two Rabbis Walk into a Brain

Two Rabbis Walk into a BrainThere is amazing work happening in Boulder at the Center for Innovation and Creativity. Yoni Ashar and his colleagues are using the latest technology – including brain-imaging MRI – to study how the human brain works and responds. Their work is among the most complex and informative in this exciting new field.

What do their findings mean for religion? Is a G-d-experience simply a configuration of the brain? And if it is, what does that say about the G-d experience? What happens when to our brains when we pray? Meditate? Think about G-d? Take drugs?

All these questions and more will be on the table at the next SoulFood event – “This is your Brain on G-d – The Mind, Neuroscience, and the Religious Path.” Join us for a dialogue with Doctoral Candidate Yoni Ashar, an actual demonstration of the imaging MRI, and a lively debate with Rabbis Rose and Goldfeder.

December 3rd at the Center for Innovation and Creativity 1777 Exposition Drive in Boulder. Starting @ 7 PM. RSVPs needed, as we have limited space. You can reserve a spot by emailing us at rabbigaga@gmail.com
