JFS Forms Boulder Advisory Committee

JFS Forms Boulder Advisory CommitteeJewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) has announced the formation of a new advisory committee to guide the agency’s services in Boulder. The Boulder JFS Advisory Committee will help provide the creative vision and direction for how JFS can best serve those in need in this community.

The committee will be exploring the expansion of services for Jewish seniors, disabled adults, and others in need. They will examine options for providing additional direct programming and services in existing facilities, as well as opportunities for seniors living in their own homes. Although JFS does not provide housing services, this committee will also act as a catalyst for evaluating potential Jewish senior housing options.

With the completion of the new Jewish Community Center (JCC), there will be numerous new opportunities to serve the rapidly growing senior Jewish population in our community. The next decade will be an important and exciting time for the development of Jewish Boulder.

Chaired by Linda Loewenstein, the committee includes Jody Ansell, Stacey Bahr, Carolyn Bleicher, Steve Ellis, Rabbi Ruth Gelfarb, Barbara Gould, Bill Nagel, Meg Quiat, Molly Sirkus, Gail Sloat, Ellen Taxman, Ed Victor, Cynthia Weinger, and Jackie Wong.

The expertise and enthusiasm on this committee is really awesome,” says Linda Loewenstein. “We are looking forward to working with the talented staff members of JFS—Cathy Summer and Ingrid Swords—as well as Jonathan Lev and Kathryn Bernheimer of the Boulder JCC. We hope to make a real difference.”
