Chanukah the Poem

Chanukah the Poem

Chanukah the PoemChanukah, Oh Chanukah
He shoveled all night long
To bail himself out of South Dakota.
She wrangled 200 mile an hour winds
Heading south in Wyoming.
They had to realign their car in Tucson and
Readjust their arms in Albuquerque.

Chanukah, oh Chanukah!
12 below in Nederland–
The Frozen, Dead Man
Will rest solidly tonight,
As a packed Lincoln ’70, Mark III’s
Whitewalls crawl down the mountainside
For Chanukah’s, that night.

Chanukah, oh Chanukah!
Have to check the computer clock,
Graciously the moon cycles have given us
Time to shop those special stores,
Hoping they still exist this day, and
The Ritual Wells
Where the spiritual dwells;
Dreidels, menorahs, and
A mint of gold Gelt,
To Find the gift,
The Gift.

Happy Chanukah to all
And to all great nights!
Sings the Jewish Santa,
Driving home
Night after night.
Happy Chanukah!
O Chanukah!
To us all ,oy, this joyful night!
