Occupy Judaism

Occupy Judaism

Occupy JudaismWow, this happened in a flash. Tweets were happening during Kol Nidre in New York – yes, it was Kol Nidre even at Occupy Wall Street. And now there’s Occupy Judaism.

Here is a quick compilation of news from the last day or so – including tweets, a link to the Occupy Judaism Facebook page, and links to related articles on the web.

(Not sure how to “read tweets”? if it starts with “http://” then it’s a link to something on the web. It’s safe, we checked it.)

Could it be the birth of a new movement? No one knows – but it’s amazing to watch it sprout.

  1. We've been around a long time, Cheryl. The anti-institutional breed of young Jews has joyfully networked, prayed, sang and kept a living community for years while insitutional Judaism cried about the lack of young people involved in their synagogues — synagogues which did not reflect or legitimize our values. Don't look at this as the beginning of a new movement of Judaism — view this as our coming-out party.
