On Saturday, May 16th, 2026 (29 Iyar, 5786), Gabe Davis was called to the Torah as Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Nevei Kodesh. Gabe read from Parashat Bamidbar.
Gabe’s Mitzvah Project
For his mitzvah project, Gabe is raising money to support The Wild Horse Refuge (wildhorserefuge.org),located near the Sand Wash Basin in Craig, CO. The Refuge is home to 230 wild Mustangs, some of which trace their lineage to horses brought over by the Spaniards! These horses were once rounded up by BLM and kept in captivity. Now they are free to roam. They need a lot of land to do so.
The Refuge has no paddocks, stock pens, fenced pastures or other smaller and more restrictive spaces in use. Instead of being relegated to small pastures, the wild horses living at the Refuge are able to run, not just graze. You can learn more about it here:youtube.com/watch?v=uncSuN3mHOg.
