Discovering Your Own Jewish Path: Introducing “How Do You Jew?” at the Boulder JCC

Whether you grew up celebrating every holiday, are in an interfaith relationship, or simply feel “Jew-curious,” finding a comfortable entry point into Jewish life can sometimes feel daunting. How do you integrate heritage, culture, and values into a modern life? What does it mean to connect to Jewish tradition on your own terms?

To help explore these very questions, the Boulder JCC is thrilled to launch How Do You Jew?, a welcoming, engaging Judaism 101 series designed for anyone looking to learn, connect, and explore. No prior background or knowledge required.

We know that one of the biggest hurdles to participating in community programs, especially for busy parents, is managing schedule logistics and dinner routines. We want you to be able to show up, relax, and fully engage.

To make participating as seamless as possible, “How Do You Jew?” includes:

  • Complimentary Childcare: Bring your children along! Safe, engaging on-site care is provided while you attend the program.
  • Pizza Dinner for Everyone: Skip cooking and cleanup for the evening. We provide a friendly, relaxed pizza dinner for both adults and kids before or during the sessions.

“How Do You Jew?” isn’t a rigid class with tests or one-size-fits-all rules. Instead, it’s a vibrant, open exploration of all things Jewish. Together, we’ll dive into the heart of Jewish life, covering everything from relationships, rituals, and holidays to practical tips, challenges, and meaningful traditions.

This program is explicitly designed to be inclusive and accessible:

  • Open to Everyone: Whether you identify as Jewish, are part of a multi-faith family, or are simply curious about Jewish history and culture, you belong here.
  • No Pressure, Real Talk: We welcome the big questions, the subtle doubts, and the fun, everyday details of how modern individuals and families shape their identities.

The series begins Wednesday, September 2nd with The High Holidays, Explained. Upcoming topics include:

Come for the conversation, enjoy the pizza, and leave with a deeper connection to your community and culture. To learn more, view upcoming dates, or register your family, visit boulderjcc.org/howdoyoujew
