A Star Amidst a Sea of Darkness

Restless rustling trees beckon

with their grey arms, come home

away from this neon electric world!

Step out of the noise that grows!

We’re in a state of twisted truths

while we continue the deeds of heaven.

Our senses permeated

with all the traffic frantic news

still, we can feel the wisps of God.

One God, a star amidst the sea of space.

Where we’re little squirrels packing our pouches and pockets,

playing Hide-and-Seek, afraid

of everything and anything

that might happen…

We’ve lost our hardwired line to God’s voice.

Once and awhile, we intercept Her

Conversations of truth, love, and hope

to a caller, who knows who?

So many cannot hear God,

their disconnected lives cannot know

a greater truth, such sadness,

not to connect to another soul.

Still She sweeps the fragments of leafy matter while waiting for a blue-white flash

of another enlightenment.
