Together Shabbat: A Night of Connection for Boulder’s 50+ Jewish Community

Together Shabbat: A Night of Connection for Boulder’s 50+ Jewish Community

What happens when good food, intentional conversation, and a welcoming spirit come together around a shared table? Community is born—and that’s exactly the spirit behind OneTable Together Shabbat, a special evening hosted in partnership by the Boulder JCC and OneTable Together.

Designed for adults aged 50 and over, OneTable Together Shabbat is more than just a meal—it’s an opportunity to build new connections, spark meaningful conversations, and celebrate Shabbat in a way that feels authentic, joyful, and welcoming.

This gathering is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Boulder JCC and OneTable Together, a national initiative that empowers adults 50+ to host and attend Friday night dinners that are personally meaningful and socially fulfilling. Since spring 2024, local participants have been gathering in one another’s homes for intimate Shabbat dinners. This upcoming communal meal at the Boulder JCC offers a chance for even more people to experience the joy of Shabbat—and the magic of meeting someone new over fresh challah and good conversation.

What makes this evening unique? Guests will choose from a selection of themed tables designed to match shared interests and life stages—from pickleball enthusiasts and Mah Jongg lovers to empty nesters, grandparents, and those navigating the college years with teens. Each table will be guided by a Table Captain who will lead the blessings and help spark connection around the ritual and meal.

No prior knowledge or Shabbat experience is needed—just a willingness to show up, share a meal, and connect with others.

Dinner will be catered, the atmosphere will be warm, and the conversations will be rich. Whether you’re new to town or simply looking to expand your circle, you belong at the table.

Join us for a Shabbat dinner that celebrates connection, hospitality, and the joy of doing Jewish—together on Friday, August 8.
