JEWISHcolorado Opens Applications for 2025 Anything Grants™

JEWISHcolorado Opens Applications for 2025 Anything Grants™

Staenberg Anything Grants™, funded by the Staenberg Family Foundation and administered by JEWISHcolorado, support projects, infrastructure, and programs of local Jewish organizations.

True to their name, the grants can be for “anything,” provided the project fulfills the grant criteria. They are awarded to Jewish nonprofit agencies, organizations, and synagogues in Colorado seeking to fund a specific project.

These one-time matching grants are for $5,000, up to 50 percent of the project budget. The application process for 2025 grantmaking is now open. The application deadline is April 11, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

2024 Anything Grants™

Last year’s Anything Grants™ recipients included Ekar Farm, Chabad of Longmont, Staenberg-Loup JCC, Chabad Jewish Center of South Metro Denver, Denver Academy of Torah, Kavod Senior Life, Har Shalom, Bright Lights Denver, Ganeinu, Community Center of the Bukharian Jews of CO, Temple Aaron of Trinidad, Colorado, Congregation Beth Evergreen, Congregation Nevei Kodesh, and Ramah in the Rockies.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Congregation Beth Evergreen produced a celebratory video that highlights its journey as a tight-knit Jewish community in a more isolated mountain region. “This project will showcase how our community came together and thrives, and shows WHY Jewish community is especially important in the mountain area,” they wrote.

Kavod Senior Life was able to purchase and install new equipment to expand its bistro and enhance food service. “These upgrades will better serve our 400 residents, many of whom are low-income and have underlying health conditions,” they wrote to JEWISHcolorado.

With their Anything Grant™, Bright Lights Early Learning Center was able to purchase outdoor furniture to outfit its early education center in Denver’s Downtown neighborhoods. Recipients said, “Our goal is to provide children with a strong foundation for Jewish education and life, while also creating a sense of belonging and identity. We will be the first to offer a state-of-the-art Jewish and General early education to our community.”

What are the goals of Anything Grants™?

In 2005, Michael Staenberg established the Staenberg Family Foundation to mobilize resources needed to preserve and enhance Jewish life in the United States and around the world. The Staenberg Family Foundation believes that Anything Grants™ will:

  • Contribute to local agencies that help create a thriving community;
  • Leave a legacy by spreading tangible acts of goodwill throughout the Colorado Jewish community;
  • Encourage others in the Jewish community to support important initiatives, projects, and organizations.

Anything Grants™ are a one-time grant. Applications must be for specific one-time need rather than ongoing programs. Please note that funding requests for security upgrades will not be funded by Anything Grants™.

In past years, Anything Grants have been used for a variety of projects including:

  • Hiring a nonprofit consultant for a discrete project;
  • Purchasing or upgrading technology;
  • Offering one-time Staff/Board professional development;
  • Beautifying or improving a building;
  • Purchasing and installing playground equipment.

All applicants for Anything Grants™ must have a 501(c)3 tax status. Applications will only be accepted via the online form. Please email Dr. Julie Lieber, jlieber@jewishcolorado.org for more information.
