Divorce & Discovery: New Visions for Jewish Healing Program Comes to Colorado in August

Nationally recognized program brings transformational support for divorcing Jews to JCC Ranch Camp

Divorce & Discovery: New Visions in Jewish Healing is announcing a groundbreaking new partnership with JCC Ranch Camp that will bring the program to Colorado this summer. From August 21 to August 24, 2025, JCC Ranch Camp will host participants from across the country for a content-rich, educational and spiritual retreat for divorce healing. This partnership is the first to bring this unique and popular program to the Jewish community in the Rocky Mountain region. Registration is now open.

“Divorce & Discovery has had more impact than I dreamed it would,” said Rabbi Deborah Newbrun, founder of Divorce & Discovery: New Visions for Jewish Healing. “Past participants rave about the transformational learning, Jewish rituals, and community of friends they enjoyed at our Jewish healing retreats. One participant responded in the post retreat evaluation, “The Divorce & Discovery weekend exceeded all expectations. The rituals created by the incredible leaders felt so natural, as if Judaism was always meant to support the (unfortunate) life-cycle event of Divorce.”

“We are excited to bring this experience to the Colorado Jewish community for the first time,” said Katelyn Skeen, director at JCC Ranch Camp. “Working to bring Divorce & Discovery here has really shown how camp’s power to facilitate Jewish learning and growth is so important for all people and stages of life.”

Divorce & Discovery: New Visions for Jewish Healing provides Jewish spiritual healing practices, education and rituals to support those struggling with divorce. For participants, whether men, women, or non-binary, whether straight or gay, whether Jewish or Jewish-adjacent, the retreat forges a path from rupture to wholeness, guided by Jewish healing rituals, community, friendship, deep Jewish learning and professional expertise.

JCC Ranch Camp is the premier residential summer camp owned and operated by JCC Denver. Sitting on 380 acres of beautiful private land in Elbert Colorado, nestled in the Black Forest. Serving over 400 campers each summer and playing host to transformative retreat experiences, every day at camp is an adventure exploring our miles of trails, swimming in the pool, and flying down the ziplines.

Those interested in registering for the program may do so through the JCC Ranch Camp website here. For more information, contact Rabbi Deborah Newbrun at deborah@getsetgoca.com or (415) 823-1302.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
