Discover the Joy of Pickleball at the Boulder JCC

Whether you’re brand new to the sport or looking to elevate your skills, the Boulder JCC’s pickleball program offers something for everyone—from structured lessons to lively open play or dynamic clinics.

But, what even is pickleball?
Pickleball is a fast-growing paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong into a game that’s easy to learn, fun to play, and incredibly social. People are drawn to pickleball for its quick learning curve, low-impact nature, and the sense of community it fosters—whether you’re playing casually or competitively. It not only improves your physical fitness and coordination, but also connects you with a welcoming network of players.

Now that you say it, I hear a lot about pickleball. What sets the Boulder JCC apart?
Every aspect of our program is led by a seasoned Pickleball Professional, dedicated not just to refining your game, but also to creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere that keeps you coming back. We offer programming that is straightforward and focused on making you a better player. On top of that, our staff is dedicated to making your experience the best in Boulder!

I’m intrigued! What sort of pickleball programs can I get involved in at the JCC?
We offer a full range of pickleball opportunities for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced intermediate players. Our Open Play sessions are drop-in, non-coached games designed for those who already know the basics—how to serve, rally, and keep score. If you’re brand new to the game, we recommend starting with our Learn to Play Clinic, part of our wide variety of skill-based clinics tailored to help you grow at every stage. For more personalized development, our professional-led lessons are an excellent way to sharpen your technique, boost your strategy, and elevate your overall game.

Do you have any more incredible information I should know?
Yes! Because our pickleball program is hosted right here at the Boulder JCC, you get a hub of activity that offers far more than just court time. When you join us, you’re stepping into a place where neighbors connect, skills grow, and unexpected opportunities emerge. After your match, grab a refreshment at our Café at the J (Open weekdays, 7:45 am – 2 pm), wind down with a visit to the HaSifria Library, schedule a tour for a future visit to the Milk and Honey Farm, or plan your next Holiday party with our Events and Rentals Team.

I’m ready to get started!
Pickleball is more than a sport—it’s a chance to connect and learn with others who share your passion. At the Boulder JCC, you’ll be coached by experts, supported by a vibrant community, and welcomed into a space where everyone is encouraged to play their best and be themselves. Ready to get started? Whether you’re paddling into your first game or fine-tuning your backhand, our doors—and courts—are open.
