Colorado Hebrew Chorale Presents “The Girl Who Sang – In Story and Song”

The Colorado Hebrew Chorale presents “The Girl Who Sang- In Story and Song” in recognition of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, 2:30-3:45 pm at the Belmar Branch of the Jefferson County Public Library, 555 S. Allison Parkway, Lakewood, CO 80226. The program commemorates the life and legacy of Estelle Nadel, z”l (1934-2003) who was a hidden child in Poland during the Holocaust. The program includes dramatic readings based upon the graphic memoir, “The Girl Who Sang” written by Estelle and illustrated by Sammy Savos.  The script was prepared by Selena Naumoff of the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Denver. The Chorale will sing several songs appropriate for the occasion. A violin solo will be performed by Ishan Zhang, an 11-year-old violinist from Golden and a member of the Youth Wild Beautiful Orchestra in Denver. An ASL interpreter will be provided.

The program is free and is open to the community.

The event is sponsored by the Colorado Hebrew Chorale, Jefferson County Library and SCFD, the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
