Banyan’s Mitzvah Project: BFF – Best Foot Forward
Hello, For my Mitzvah project, I decided to start a sock drive called B.F.F., Best Foot Forward. The goal of the project is to collect as many pairs of new socks as possible for people experiencing homelessness across Colorado.
In Colorado alone, there are an estimated 15,000 people without homes and another 130,000 without stable housing according to the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. So many people are facing a lot of different hardships, and people lose their homes for a lot of different reasons. I hope that providing warm socks to help people feel safe, warm and comfortable helps those that are struggling.
I will have a collection bin at Nevei Kodesh starting Sunday January 19th if you would like to drop off NEW and unworn socks to contribute to my Mitzvah Project.
Socks will be distributed to local nonprofits supporting the unhoused including The Bridge House and EFAA in Boulder. I hope through this work, I can help even a few people put their Best Foot Forward.
Thank you
Banyan Bratter
