The second annual KlezKolorado festival will take place May 16-18, 2025 at JCC Ranch Camp. KlezKolorado is a weekend-long Klezmer festival that centers local and national Klezmer music acts, Yiddish culture, workshops, and Colorado’s Jewish community. The festival highlights the burgeoning Klezmer music revival in Denver, Boulder, and beyond.
KlezKolorado is structured primarily as a retreat, inviting participants of all ages, including families, to attend a weekend full of concerts, workshops, community meals and nature-based activities. Attendees can also choose to come for the Klezmer concerts on that Friday and/or Saturday. Some of the bands who will play at the festival include Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe, Mish Mish, Dot Levine, Gora Gora Orkestar and Jordan Wax, who just launched a new album.
Guests who are attending for the full weekend will be provided with cabin-style accommodations, meals and snacks (including a special Shabbat dinner), and full access to all activities throughout the weekend. The weekend will include young family and kids programming, increased workshop offerings for musicians and new non-instrument-based workshops including Intro into Learning Yiddish, Spiritual Nigunim (wordless melodies), Klezmer dance, Songs of the Jewish Labor Bund, and more.
The festival is organized by a queer-led and queer-focused group through the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center that welcomes people of all backgrounds to come and join in the fun.
Tickets are now available, and can be purchased on a sliding scale, at https://www.jccdenver.org/klezkolorado/.
