Shabbat Walk and Picnic – Humanistically

Shabbat Walk and Picnic – Humanistically

Saturday, July 13 | 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Enjoy Shabbat outdoors with a relaxed hike on a semi-shaded Boulder County trail. We’ll gather at the Waneka Lake Picnic Shelter in Lafayette for a brief set of Humanistic blessings with grape juice and challah, before setting out on a casual walk with occasional mindful readings and discussion.

Many birds frequent this lake. Last month an osprey was spotted swooping down and picking up a fish. Maybe this time we’ll get to see some Grebes or perhaps a Swainson’s Hawk. Remember to bring water and to dress for the ever-changing Colorado weather.

Stay for a BYO lunch after the hike and enjoy old and new friendships. Restrooms are available in the boathouse.

Click the Attend button on our Meetup page so we know you are coming!

The event is free, but donations are always welcome.

Beth Ami is the only Humanistic Jewish congregation in Colorado and is a proud affiliate of the Society for Humanistic Judaism. We celebrate Jewish holidays, learning and life cycle events through the secular lens of history, culture, and reason. We believe in the human capacity to create a better world without supernatural intervention.

Beth Ami is a welcoming community where we connect to Jewish past, celebrate Jewish present and link to Jewish future through a humanistic philosophy. We encourage anyone interested in learning about Humanistic Judaism to attend this and all our events.

Let’s do Jewish together – Humanistically!

COVID-19 safety measures: This event will be outdoors. If you have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID or have experienced COVID symptoms in the past 10 days, then for the safety of others, please skip this event and plan to attend one of our future events. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
