Former Israeli Diplomat to Speak at Jewish National Fund-USA Event in Boulder

Following Jewish National Fund-USA’s 2,500-person-strong Global Conference for Israel held in Denver this past fall, the organization is bringing back one of the conference’s most popular speakers to deliver the keynote address for its “Transforming Zionism: Redefining Israel” event in Boulder on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 7:30 pm.

The complimentary event will feature keynote speaker Shahar Azani, a veteran Israeli diplomat who served as the Consul for Media Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in New York and is currently the Senior Vice President of Jewish Broadcasting Services, where he leads the media fight for Israel by reporting the truth about the country.

Azani will speak to the impossible expectations demanded of Israel, the fight against the global media’s destructive narrative, and how anti-Zionism is the new antisemitism.

“I was so excited to hear the Colorado State House recently rejected an attempt to uphold BDS,” said Azani. “However, we know all too well that’s not the last time we’re going to face that challenge, and unfortunately, many more like it, as this modern-day antisemitism that disguises itself as anti-Zionism has become all too prevalent in international media outlets, on college campuses, and in the public sphere. Join me at the event to learn how you can stand against those who seek to destroy us, face the challenges ahead, and leverage all the opportunities this situation presents us with. Together, we will be triumphant.”

Attendees will also learn about how Jewish National Fund-USA supported the land and people of Israel before October 7 and how the organization was one of the first to respond after the Hamas terrorist attack — evacuating and relocating tens of thousands of impacted families along the border with Gaza and in Israel’s north.

Jewish National Fund-USA’s emergency relief efforts include the “Livnot B’Yachad – Build Together” plan, first announced to attendees at the Global Conference, featuring a bold, strategic initiative to rebuild Israel Envelope communities from the ground up – cleaning up the region, designing and constructing new homes, and helping small businesses reopen, all while supporting the region’s immediate and long-term security needs, physical and mental health requirements, and resilience efforts to create a welcoming environment for evacuees to return home.

“The Boulder Jewish community has never been stronger, and we are united in our support for Israel,” said Jewish National Fund-USA Mountain States Board Member, Yaron Marcus. “We can’t wait to use the momentum from Colorado’s successful Global Conference to educate even more people on how Jewish National Fund-USA is truly transforming Israel’s north and south, rebuilding it stronger and safer than it was before.”

This event is expected to sell out. Reserve your seat by April 10, 2024.
