Letter: The Perverse Conflation of Antisemitism and Islamophobia

Dear Editor,

Associate Professor Harun Kucuk at the University of Pennsylvania myopically drags out the shibboleth that “the proper response to speech you don’t like is more speech”. (New York Times, December 10, 2023, “At Penn Vacancies in Leadership, and Anguish on Campus”).

That shibboleth was not true at antisemitic Nazi Universities in the 1930s, and it is no longer true at many  American universities.

Today thousands and thousands of students and professors embrace Hamas and thereby embrace Article 7 of its Charter — Hamas only exists within the four squares of its Charter – which requires every supporter of Hamas to murder every Jew on earth. “From the River to the Sea” is the speech that defines this embrace of Hamas’ antisemitic genocidal raison d etre.

Responding to similar genocidal hate speech was pointless for Jewish students in Nazi Germany and it has become pointless for Jewish students at many American universities today.

Administrators in the United States must study was was done in post World War Two Germany to disinfect its universities of antisemitism.

One of first things that must happen here is for administrators to learn and then instruct that antisemitism and islamophobia are NOT mirror images of each other.

Antisemitism is a term created by German journalist Wilhelm Marr in the second half of the 19th century as a description of the hatred of Jewish people. He hated Jewish people and wanted a term to describe his jew hatred.

Islamophobia is a term created by the antisemitic genocidal Muslim Brotherhood late in the 20th century to prevent the legitimate discussion of Islam.

For example the Muslim Brotherhood does not want discussed that the Koran celebrates in 627 in Medina Muhammad commanding the decapitation of 600-900 unharmed Jewish men and the kidnapping and sexual enslavement of 1000 Jewish girls and women.

To conflate antisemitism and Islamophobia as both dealing with hate is ultimately antisemitic. Yes, antisemitism deals with hate. Islamophobia however was created to prevent the discussion of truth.

Of course those supporters of Hamas on college campuses want this unholy conflation as they attempt to complete the Nazification of American universities. They are well aware that the Nazification of German universities led directly to Auschwitz…which as worshippers of Article 7 of the Hamas Charter is exactly what they want to happen in America…and around the world.
