On May 21st, 2023, Leora Ross, together with the Beth Ami community and her family and friends, celebrated her Cultural B Mitzvah at Staunton State Park in Pine, CO.
As a part of the service, Leora presented a commentary on a parsha (portion of the Torah). Leora’s interest in environmentalism and tikkun olam (repairing and improving the world) was reflected in her mitzvah project. Leora established a composting program for her neighborhood in Golden by researching her options, educating neighbors, and negotiating with a local company to establish a weekly compost pick up. The processed compost is then returned to the subscribers for their home gardens.
Mazel tov to Leora and her parents, Adam and Megan Ross.
