(Ocala, FL) Herut North America is excited to announce a day of Jewish Pride to be celebrated on
Thursday, December 7, 2023, the first night of Chanukah.
To recognize their pride, Herut would like for all Jews (and those who support the Jewish
community) to celebrate by wearing Jewish items, gathering with friends and community, and/or
lighting Chanukah candles in the evening.
“Antisemitism and anti-Zionism have been on the rise for quite a while, but the heinous Hamas
attack on Israel unleashed a vicious outburst of violence and hate against the Jewish People,”
states Karma Feinstein Cohen, Executive Director of Magshimey Herut North America. “These
events are reminiscent of the horrors that took place before the Holocaust. Thank G-D today, the
Jewish people have an independent state – The State of Israel. We can no longer be intimidated
by these haters. Herut North America will be celebrating our Judaism with a day of Jewish
Pride. On this day, our communities in the United States and around the world will express their
Judaism proudly for all to see.”
“I feel when one hides being Jewish, it is a win for those who hate the Jewish people. The more
we show our pride, the stronger we appear as a Jewish Community. There is always strength in
numbers,” stated Miriam Fischer, Director of Communities and Social Media for Herut North
America. “I feel Herut is one of the few organizations that not only wants Jews to be proud to
support Israel, but they also want Jews to be proud they are Jewish.”
Herut North America is a non-political, non-profit organization that is committed to the creation
of social, economic, and political conditions to successfully integrate all Jews into the eternal
Homeland of Israel, as well as instilling a strong sense of Jewish pride for those living in the
Diaspora.
Herut North America is devoted to securing the Jewish People’s inalienable right to
live freely and securely in their ancestral homeland of Israel. Magshimey Herut North America
strives to unify the Jewish People as one family through Zionist education and activism.
