In a convergence of creativity, the Boulder JCC is eagerly anticipating the upcoming gallery exhibition at the Messinger Gallery, which will showcase a remarkable collection of photographic works by three talented local artists sharing the same first name—Bruce Borowsky, Bruce Henderson, and Bruce Shaffer. This unique event promises to be a captivating exploration of diverse perspectives, thematic nuances, and technical prowess, united under the common banner of the Three Bruces.
We invite you to the Messinger Gallery Opening for artists Bruce Borowsky, Bruce Hendersen, and Bruce Shaffer on Thursday, September 7 from 5 – 7:30 pm. Expose yourself to amazing photography and engage in meaningful discussion with community.
Bruce Shaffer describes his work “of faces and places are found mostly in Israel and the West Bank/Palestine. With my camera, I’m looking for the inner light of my subjects, as they inform ordinary life in this extraordinary Land.” He continues, “My style is informed by documentary and street-photography sensibilities. I’m operating viscerally, always looking for what to look for.”
Bruce Henderson explains that he has been involved in Photography for more years then he would like to admit. Starting in heady days when film cameras were the only option available right through to the present with digital cameras. He describes his work as “a wide variety of photography from technical photography using large format cameras to weddings, sports, events, family photography to recording life in many parts of Australia but mainly in the Central Victorian Region.”
Bruce Borowsky is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker specializing in corporate and documentary videos.
