Dr. Peter Vayshenker, father of Igor Vayshenker and husband of 70 years of Maria and father-in-law of Bonai Shalom’s ritual chair, Susan Cohen, died the morning of January 2, 2023 in hospital in Boulder.
Peter was 95 years old. He was born in Belarus and practiced medicine in Moscow as a very prominent doctor. Peter and Maria moved to Boulder in 1991 after retiring.
The funeral will be on Thursday January 5th. There will be a memorial service at 12pm in the Bonai Shalom sanctuary, which will also be livestreamed here.
This will be followed by a graveside funeral at Green Mountain Cemetery on 20th Street at 1.30pm. Please note that the conditions at the cemetery are somewhat treacherous and the family are concerned to keep the burial on the small side for everyone’s safety.
Following the burial, people are invited back to Bonai Shalom for some light refreshments at approximately 2.30pm.
