On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, nearly 600 Coloradans came together at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum for Jewish National Fund-USA’s annual Breakfast for Israel. The community Breakfast celebrated Israel’s 75th anniversary while highlighting several of the organization’s initiatives that are improving the quality of life in Israel’s north and south and educating Zionist leaders of tomorrow.

A particular emphasis was placed on the organization’s support of ecological initiatives in Israel through the event’s keynote speaker, Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed, the Executive Director of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. The Institute is an affiliate of Jewish National Fund-USA, where Israeli, Palestinian, and Jordanian students tackle the world’s most pressing environmental issues while fostering cooperation in the Middle East.
Dr. Abu Hamed discussed how the organization’s support has helped the Institute transcend borders and politics, bringing Israelis and Arabs together to help heal the planet. Attendees were also encouraged to register for the first-ever Global Conference for Israel (jnf.org/global), taking place in Denver from November 30-December 3, 2023.
