Since 2018, the Boulder JCC, along with 27 other local Jewish organizations, has participated in Live On: Build Your Jewish Legacy, an initiative of Rose Community Foundation, and LIFE & LEGACY, a partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (Live On | LIFE & LEGACY™). The aim of this four year partnership was to help Greater Denver and Boulder Jewish organizations with endowment building and legacy giving, providing them the tools and resources to become financially sustainable for the future and integrating legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community.
The Boulder JCC incorporated the Live On | LIFE & LEGACY™ program with its existing legacy building initiatives to grow its base of Carob Legacy Circle members; donors who are committed to sustaining the organization through endowment building and legacy giving. Legacy giving is an effective way to ensure the fiscal well-being of the Boulder JCC, allowing it to continue its vital and community-centered programs for future generations. Becoming a Carob Legacy Circle member also provides donors with a mechanism to support their values and commitment to the Jewish community in perpetuity and acts as a lasting tribute to honor family, friends, and loved ones.
While the Live On | LIFE & LEGACY™ program is coming to an end, the Boulder JCC’s legacy giving initiatives continue. Growing a substantial endowment is of vital importance to securing the JCC’s diverse and dynamic offerings, including everything from The Jay and Rose Phillips Early Childhood Center to the multitude of programmatic offerings for people of all ages. And the Boulder JCC wants to do so much more than maintain its current offerings to the community – it has eyes on the future and building an even stronger, more robust, and supportive center for the local community into the future.
Legacy giving can be very tax efficient; you can name the Boulder JCC in your estate plan or designate the Boulder JCC as a beneficiary of an IRA or retirement plan, life insurance policy, or commercial annuity.
