COVID (comedy) RELIEF at Beth Evergreen: Laughter for the Entire Community

EVERGREEN, COLO., April 28, 2022 — We could all use some laughter these days!! And Congregation Beth Evergreen has just the ticket. The entire community is invited to the COVID (comedy) RELIEF fundraiser with New York’s Jessica Kirson on Sunday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $36/individual, $50/couple, and $180/mensch!! A powerhouse on stage, Jessica’s countless character videos have racked up over 50 million views on social media. At a time when only 10 percent of all touring comedians are female, Jessica stands out as one of the strongest comedians regardless of gender.

Jessica co-produced FX’s Hysterical, a feature-length documentary that premiered at SXSW 2021. The film explores the changing landscape of women in stand-up comedy and features Margaret Cho, Nikki Glaser, Chelsea Handler, and other notable comedians. Her one-hour special Talking to Myself was executive produced by Bill Burr and debuted on Comedy Central. She is a regular on This Week at the Comedy Cellar and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy FallonThe Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, HBO’s Crashing, and Kevin Can Wait.

The performance is age-appropriate for 18+. There will be childcare available free-of-charge, creating the perfect excuse for friends of all ages to spend a spring afternoon together.

Opening for Kirson will be the Evergreen Players Long-Form Improv Group. These seven actors, directed by Tal Arnold, will offer long form improv that explores the comedic art of storytelling. Fasten your seatbelts!!
