Colorado Educators Are Invited to Participate in a Special Film Preview of “The US and the Holocaust”

The Colorado Holocaust Educators are extremely excited to announce the PBS presentation The US and the Holocaust airing on September 18, 19, and 20 on Rocky Mountain PBS. On July 8, 2020, Governor Polis signed into law HB20 – 1336.  This legislation includes several elements focusing on the teaching of the Holocaust and Genocide in Colorado.  The Colorado Holocaust Educators group is dedicated to creating and promoting professional development opportunities for educators to develop their knowledge and curriculum for teaching about the Holocaust.

The Colorado Holocaust Educators is partnering with PBS and the United States Holocaust Memorial and Museum to support all Colorado teachers.  This partnership will provide classroom resources and excerpts from the documentary for use in the classroom.  The group will facilitate online and in-person professional development opportunities in Colorado this fall and next spring connected to the Ken Burns documentary.

The first opportunity is a live conversation with the filmmakers of “The US and the Holocaust“.  All Colorado educators are invited to participate in a special film preview for educators on September 13, 2022, at 5 pm MT.  Please register here.

If you have any questions about this program or the Colorado Holocaust Educators group please contact Todd Hennessy.
