Chanukah on Ice Rescheduled to Tuesday Night

UPDATE: Due to the severe cold forecast for Thursday afternoon, Chanukah on Ice has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 20th!

LOUISVILLE, CO: Jewish tradition teaches that no matter how dark it gets we must strive to bring light. No holiday celebrates this concept more brightly than Chanukah, which requires lighting one more candle each night until we have filled the eight-branched menorah and brought light to the darkness.

Every year, the much-anticipated annual Chanukah on Ice event attracts a crowd of families for outdoor ice skating to Chanukah music, with stops for hot chocolate, sufganiyot (traditional jelly doughnuts), and the lighting of the large 6-foot menorah in Louisville’s Downtown Main Street.

Join us as we honor Louisville Lamplighters Sheryl Buchman and her family.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR: Watch artist Danielle graffiti a Menorah live and celebrate the Festival of Lights in a fun and unique environment.

The festivities begin on Tuesday, December 20th from 4:00-6 pm and we light the menorah at 5:30 pm.

No reservations are required and everyone is welcome!

Admission to WinterSkate is $13 for children ages four to 12. Children three and under are free. Admission includes skate rental.

The Menorah lighting is open to everyone for free even if you are not skating. WinterSkate is located at 824 Front Street in downtown Louisville.

This exciting annual event is hosted by the Boulder County Center for Judaism and Boulder JCC, jointly sponsored by Ed and Julie Victor, Schad Family Insurance, JEWISHcolorado, the Oreg Foundation, Boulder Jewish News, and WinterSkate.
