Avanti F&B Hosts Boulder Author’s Book Signing and Fundraiser

Boulder travel writer Sandy Bornstein’s new book, “100 Things To Do in Boulder Before You Die” comes out this week, and it has been a particularly poignant project for her. Her husband, Ira Bornstein, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July, 2020, and the family has been fighting this aggressive cancer ever since.

On Wednesday, November 2nd, Sandy will kick off a National Brain Tumor Fundraiser at Avanti F&B on Pearl St. in downtown Boulder by holding a book signing of her new book from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The fundraiser part comes with three ways to donate:

  • Bee Sting Immunity Cocktail – Avanti will donate a portion of proceeds from each Bee Sting sold
  • Order food and round up your bill to the nearest dollar
  • Ask your server or bartender to add a donation to your tab

Avanti will be running this fundraiser from November 2nd through November 6th. Come by next week to check out Sandy’s book on the 2nd, and participate in the fundraiser through the weekend.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
