Shabbat shalom and Happy (secular) New Year! As if 2021 wasn’t tough enough, in the last two days of the year, southeast Boulder County has to endure a wild fire storm that destroyed more than 580 homes and caused the evacuation of 35,000 people — 30 hours BEFORE the arrival of the first good snowstorm of the season. We are thinking of all community members who are in limbo today, or actually know they lost their homes. You can find information on how to help – or get help – here.

Make sure that if you go out, you follow masking guidelines — Omicron is here! Meanwhile, from our family to yours, may you have a safe, healthy, prosperous and as much as possible, normal, 2022. Here are stories from and for the last day of the year:

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
