Summer ’22 Israel Study Tour Filling Up

Registration is already half full for the Summer 2022 Joyce Zeff Israel Study Tour (IST).  IST is a program of JEWISHcolorado and, has been taking Colorado teens to Israel since 1971, and over the past 50 years more than 3,000 teens from across the state of Colorado have experienced one of the few remaining community-based teen trips to Israel.

This past summer, JEWISHcolorado  took 78 teens to Israel on two separate trips. With the support of RootOne and the Jewish Agency for Israel, JEWISHcolorado secured visas and navigated all the travel and health protocols to provide a safe, meaningful, and fun experience. JEWISHcolorado’s trips were among the first allowed into Israel as pandemic conditions began to improve. Students say they made lifelong friendships and created long-lasting memories.

The summer 2022 trip will again be a five-week journey to Israel, departing on June 12 and returning on July 17. With the trip already half full, interested students are encouraged to register by November 1, 2021.  The 2022 itinerary will again feature travel throughout the country designed to broaden students’ knowledge about Israel, its neighbors, Jewish heritage, and history. For a week of the trip, Israeli teens from Colorado’s partner community of Ramat HaNegev join the IST group, allowing for a first-hand look at the lives of young people and the chance to build living bridges between young people in the U.S. and Israel. IST Director and trip leader Jillian Feiger says, “IST 2022 is an opportunity for Jewish teens in Colorado to have an extraordinary adventure, become more independent, learn about themselves, and strengthen their Jewish identity.”

Registration, more information, and video from this past summer’s travels are on the JEWISHcolorado website at https://www.jewishcolorado.org/joyce-zeff-israel-study-tour/.  Questions? Please email  ist@jewishcolorado.org.
