JFS Boulder Announces New Lunchtime Series and Caregivers’ Group

Caregivers’ Support Group, for children of aging parents.

Caring for Your Aging Parent is a virtual drop-in support group for adult children concerned about their aging parents. If you are caring for or are concerned about an aging parent, we invite you to attend. This group is offered at no cost and is facilitated by Stuart Feinhor, MA, and Jodi Ansell, MSW.

1st Thursday of the month, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their attempts to get ahold of our money and personal information. In this presentation, we will talk about the most frequent scams targeting our community members, and we will highlight the latest scams related to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will present ways to recognize and avoid these fraud attempts, whether they are coming by way of phone calls, text messages, email, social media, mail, or even at the door. We will also talk about identity theft and provide tips on how to keep your personal and financial information safe. Walk away knowing more about how to protect yourself on the phone, online and in person.

Our Medicare presentation provides an educational overview of the Medicare basics. Learn more about Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans, prescription drug coverage, and available resources in Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. This is a good first step before you start to compare plans and choose one that is right for you. It is good to prepare before you turn 65 and a great review!

During the presentation we will provide information and self-screening tools regarding resources for financial help with Medicare costs. This presentation is offered by SHIP certified Medicare counselors, no selling involved, only non-biased
information and facts.
