The JTree Mitzvah

Climate change was such a concern for one local Boulderite that she felt it needed to be included in her D’var Torah. In a recent interview, Natasha and her mother Lisa Sundell, talked about the connection between a 13th Mitzvah and JTree.

Natasha’s interest emerged at the same time that Lisa saw JTree information in the Har Hashem newsletter. The connection was made of both passion and purpose, and the JTree donation link was included in information sent about Natasha’s Bat Mitzvah. Between family, friends and a personal donation from Natasha herself, she was able to make a JTree donation of $1,200.00!

Feedback from their family and friends was very positive as a meaningful way to recognize the Mitzvah.

Thank you also to family and friends of Gabe, Ethan and others for including in your B’nai Mitzvah!

  • If you would like to make a donation to JTree to celebrate your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or recognize someone else’s, please include this link: JTree and note Boulder in the message box.

Watch this space for volunteer recruitment for a September activity with the Nature Conservancy to help with reforestation from local burn areas. Toda!
