As these very hard and confusing days of lockdown continue, it is easy for today to feel like yesterday and tomorrow, and to count off the days until we can go back to seeing the people we miss and resuming some of our activities. There is a big difference between counting days and making days count. The annual counting ritual of the 49 days of the Omer has some deep wisdom on the quality of each day, which might be especially important right now.
This Saturday, April 24, we will gather together online at 7:00 pm to say goodbye to Shabbat with a brief Havdalah candle ceremony, a few songs and, if you like, a BYO dessert. Then we will engage in a sure-to-be-interesting discussion of our Jewish identities.
