About Sarah Hurwitz and the Show What’s Up with God:
Many of us dutifully show up twice a year at synagogues and obediently recite the responsive readings that include numerous names for God . . . but we never seem to get around to talking about what we mean. When we say the word “God,” are we speaking about a being? A force? The source of all life? All of the above? How and when do we experience the Divine? What Jewish spiritual and theological insights and approaches are particularly helpful at this difficult time? A former political speechwriter (most recently for First Lady Michelle Obama) who recently published a book about Judaism after leaving the White House (long story) poses these questions and others to guests with a wildly diverse array of perspectives on God.
