Torah is our greatest gift! But it isn’t reserved just for rabbis. It is accessible and inspirational to all. Young and not-so-young, experienced and new-comers, all are welcome to explore the Torah portion of the week with Rabbi Greene and volunteers who will take turns to explore the Truths to help make meaning in our lives.

Havdalah marks the transition from sacred to ordinary time. We’ll gather online for this short ceremony, share some reflections and prepare for the week to come.
Zionist Beit Midrash – Tuesday, July 28 – 12:00 pm
As the URJ develops our leadership network we are offering this opportunity to join us on a textual journey exploring the big questions of our day, namely: Why should we, as American Reform Jews, have a connection and relationship with Israel? The Beit Midrash will be lead by Rabbi Josh Weinberg, Executive Director of ARZA-The Reform Zionist Movement, with occasional guest teachers and speakers.

Curating Cantorial Education: Breadth and Depth in Jewish Musical Life with Cantor Richard Cohn, Director, Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, HUC-JIR/New York – Wednesday, July 29 – 10:00 am
The profusion of Jewish musical creativity over the last two centuries has only accelerated in our time, and the antecedents of that abundance date to antiquity. What music do cantors learn while studying at HUC-JIR, and how do those repertoires influence their leadership of contemporary communities? We’ll frame the foundational elements and explore emerging musical forms, while viewing and listening to selected examples in representative styles.
Tisha B’Av, Suffering and Hope – Wednesday, July 29 – 7:00 pm
These are difficult times. In Jewish history, we have in our memory teachings of lament, resilience and hope. This Tisha B’av, which marks the Destruction of the Ancient Holy Temples in Jerusalem, let’s come together for our lament, let’s share some strength with one another, and return to a place of comfort and hope. Rabbi Greene will facilitate with texts and reflections relating this holy day to our current day.
