Celebrate National Jewish Book Month in November with the Boulder JCC

National Jewish Book Month is sponsored by the Jewish Book Council and held annually in the month before the Chanukah gift-giving season (roughly during the month of November). Book fairs and author events are held all over the country in celebration of books during this month.

The Boulder JCC is part of a unique partnership with a dozen JCCs all over the country and led by the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. Famous for their annual Book Festival, the MJCCA is working with the Boulder JCC to make an amazing array  of authors available to our Colorado community.

Beginning in August with well-known TV weatherman Al Roker, the 2020 LitFest will continue with authors through the end of the year. This fall, LitFest hosted New York Times best-selling authors such as Deepak Chopra, Harlan Coben, Jodi Picoult, and Yotam Ottolenghi. The unique nature of the virtual talks allows viewers to hear from the authors from their living rooms, kitchens, and offices. Highly skilled interviewers lead the conversation and take questions from the audience.

From their living rooms to yours, LitFest gives you the opportunity to hear from the authors of the hottest books of the fall and winter. The Boulder JCC is partnering with the Boulder Bookstore to provide the opportunity to purchase the books when registering for a program. Some tickets come with a required book purchase and those are handled directly through the Atlanta JCC. The Boulder Bookstore is offering curbside pickup and USPS delivery.

Starting November 8 through November 22, there will be a flurry of author events for your reading and viewing enjoyment. Some days there are author talks twice a day.

Highlights include:

JOAN LUNDEN, “Why Did I Come into This Room?: A Candid Conversation about Aging

DALE BERRA, “My Dad, Yogi

JOHN GRISHAM, “A Time for Mercy”

LAWRENCE WRIGHT, “The End of October

MELISSA CLARK, “Kid in the Kitchen

MICHAEL J FOX, “No Time Like the Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality

DAVID BALDACCI, “Daylight

We encourage you to check out our full schedule of author events at www.boulderjcc.org/litfest. A season pass, good for all 2020 author talks is available for purchase. LitFest 2021 is being planned right now. Stay tuned for more information.
